I looked through some of these posts and I run across that a lot of people have kidney stone bug and accept been, or are going through many of the situatios that I have. I have become a sefl-taught expert on kidney stones since I have passed over 200 in my lifetime. I have a congenital kidney affliction called Medullary Sponge Kidney Disease and it causes me to brand stones like well-nigh people grow fingernails. When you pass that many stones, you become to know your torso and tricks to make things less painful so I thought I'd come and tell of some experiences that might help others. In addition to passing more than 200, I've likewise been through 7 Lythotrypsies then I know all that as well. I passed my first stone when I was xx. Typical severe pain in my left flank area, like a knife pushed deep and twisting. That lasted several hours and landed me in the E.R. It took me 3 weeks to pass that stone but I finally did. The pain is typically the most instense pain a human will ever get through. The way I know information technology's a rock is that no amount of re-positioning makes that pain better. It stays the aforementioned incredible intensity throughout the experience. For those who are not familiar with stones, the pain is acquired when the stone is pushed down the ureters on the style to the bladded. Generally, you lot will pass a lot of blood the first few times this happens. Not ordinarily bright red claret only very dark rust colored. I actually passed blood the day before the pain. Didn't know, at that fourth dimension, what was going on merely learned quick. Over the years, I have so much scar tissue congenital up inside my ureters that I no longer pass any visible blood and seldom feel the stone passing downwards the ureters. I have even passed 8mm stones and never knew which side it came down because it didn't hurt. Just that was afterward the get-go 50 or so. I also know WHERE in the ureter the stone is by the type and location of pain. I know a rock is right well-nigh the opening to the bladder because I get this very regular spasm, about every 2nd or so, but the pain is felt in the tip of the penis, as if the rock is actually stuck about 1/ii inch inside the urethra. But higher up the ureter the rock is, the deeper I feel the pain in my penis, ie: If the stone is 1" from the bladder, that spasming is about 1 & 1/ii inches from the tip of my penis. This is when I know I have to button a ton of water. I mostly know when the rock passes into the bladder as I go i more very intense abrupt spasm... the kind that brand you scream "OUCH"! Then I go gear up for the next step... passing it through my penis. This is less painful than it sounds just ever shocks the sh!t out of me, excuse my french. It almost e'er goes similar this... I start peeing, and right most the terminate I feel the rock striking the exit of the bladder. I generally don't become the rock out then. Often it literally gets stuck in my urethra which is really painful and is noted by a precipitous hurting in that area when bending forward. Then I practise this trick... I drink lots of water, await until my bladder is really full and hit the bath. I then hold the very tip of my penis tightly so that no pee can come out. I release the stream, causing my urethra to expand (like in the cartoons when someone plugs a burn down hose and a large bubble grows near the finish), and then I release my grip. This cause a huge, fast stream and mostly pushes the trapped rock out. Oftentimes, I have to keep squeezing off the penis, over and over once again while trying to keep urinating, eventually, I laissez passer the stone. In cases where the stone is particularily big or difficult, I volition fill the tub with very warm water, get in and get down on all fours, reaching back to perform the aforementioned squeezing technique. This allows you to pee underwater and point the penis direct down, an help to getting information technology out of the lowest point in the bladder. Yes, I terminate upwards sitting in a bathtub total of water (and my ain pee) merely it works. I find a huge stone in the bottom of the tub. Then I but shower. Because I form stones and so fast, they are generally very jagged, like quartz crystals with spikes on the ends. Stones that spend years froming are generally more round and easier to pass. But ofttimes, my stones don't show upwards on xray because they from so fast, they are not dumbo and therefore, not radio-opaque. This oftens causes me issues every bit new doctors recollect I'm faking a stone. Another trick I apply is when I have a stone stuck in my ureter for weeks or months. I go to the E.R. and have them hook me up to a normal sailine I.Five. and push button it wide open. This moves and so much fluid through my kidneys that the stone often moves to the float with ii hours. But this is not recommended for men over 50 equally having that much fluid in your boday can crusade a middle attack. Basically, you are simulating Congestive Heart Failure by having so much fluid going through your bloodstream. I haven't done the Iv affair since I turned fifty. As to what causes my stones, they are about always calcium-oxylate, the typical type. Drinking colas is the number one way people get these stones. But eating nuts is besides non a adept idea. Many people say coffee is bad (tea is very high in oxylates) but I really drink merely coffee for the past v years and have profoundly reduced my rock bug. I do drinkable lots of coffee and some water too so I think the hydration alone is what'southward working. I spent 2 years drinking two bears a day... never created a stone in 2 years. But I couldn't keep my beer gut from forming. Beer is a bang-up diuretic. I also endeavor to take a Flomax when I know I'm nigh to pass a rock. Makes it easier to release the prostate and get flow going. These are just some of the things I've learned over the years. I hope they assistance someone. I came here today because I feel like I passed a stone into my bladder but have not been able to flush it out. And at least one-half the times I go to pee, there is naught, no pain, no stone trying to exit the bladder near the terminate. This is very unusual for me. And it happened the same last month... felt I passed a stone but never did. And so either I have i stuck in the bladder (which BTW happens ofttimes... the float is non smoothen on the inside, it has lots of folds and crevices that like to hold onto stones) or I am experiencing prostate stones for the first fourth dimension. I came here looking for symptoms of those as they are new to me. Adept luck to all. Drink lots of h2o!

As I write this I have on stuck on my forepart right that has been moving for several months--it must exist a dosey.Anyway, for my own tricks...When you know y'all are getting close, endeavor drinking two glasses of water as quickly as y'all can, followed by a beer. Repeat until the stone comes out! The alcohol acts as a diuretic and dulls some of the pain.Yous'll discover that you lot can force yourself to back away from the pain at least temporarily simply every bit yous can forcefulness yourself to finish shivering when information technology is cold. Information technology takes practice, but I tin can now laissez passer stones without anyone knowing. My first stones in my 20s had me writhing in pain. Now I can command my reaction to hurting and will myself through it when I need to.When the stone is in the bladder but not coming out make certain you wait as long equally you lot can between trips to the bathroom. The stone ever comes out at the end of the pee stream. To avoid releasing stones already in your kidneys, continue hydrated in a anticipated way. Stones seem to interruption loose during periods of extremes--aridity or sudden, over-hydration. Well, I plant out that the rock I thought I had passed into my bladder really had but it had got stuck when entering the urethra. I spent all yesterday in agony. Finally, after hours and hours of drinking and using every trick I ever used I managed to gratis it upwards. The rock was oblong, very unusual shape. Nearly 3mm at the narrow part only about 6-7mm long. It must accept come downwards the ureter lenghtwise, which is why I didn't experience information technology much. Just it must accept got stuck sideways on the fashion out of the bladder. It'southward amazing how much better you lot feel almost instantly! Expert luck to all sufferrers.
I mix a concoction of 2 ounces of pure Lemon juice with two ounces of Virgin Olive Oil. The oil reduces the friction inside the ureter and urethra by allowing the tubes to expand and become more than flexible, so the stone can slide downward without any discomfort. The lemon juice allows the sharp points to exist buffered, literally melting the stone as it passes. This remedy volition enable you lot to pass your kidney rock inside 1 week or less, depending on the size of the stone. Boilerplate time to pass is 4 hours to ane calendar week. Hurting volition disappear within a couple of hours .... really works !!!
Hey guy with over 200 stones, I accept the aforementioned problem! IT SUCKS!
Thank you for answering a question that I've had for YEARS... I'm a 38-year old female person, and my showtime rock was when I was 16. I've since given nascency, and YEP, the rock was Fashion worse. Like y'all described, information technology didn't permit up. Even for a 2d. (At to the lowest degree the contractions come in waves!)Over the years, I've had somewhere between 45 and 55 stones. I always tell people that there'south no real signal in counting past the 30th 1. :)Nosotros're a foreign brood, yous and I. What I've always wondered is if other people take noticed -- over many years -- a reduction in pain due to ureteral scar tissue?! Thank yous for answering information technology. YES. Fantastic. I have wondered, more than in one case, if I "really" was having a kidney stone, considering of the dull sensation (fifty-fifty though I, like you, can pinpoint with deadly accuracy where the stone is at any given moment). Unbelievable. A kindred spirit! :) Thanks again.
Thank you for the peachy information! I'm only on rock number 4, and it has been working its mode out for the last eight months now. It'due south almost through. I recently came upon the Lemon Juice information and started with that about a week and a one-half ago. It may indeed piece of work because information technology seems to be making more than progress lately. Since I'm a guy, I have no thought what kid birth feels like. What I tin tell you is that I have had arthitis (Ankylosing Spondylitis to be specific) since I was 10 (I'thou in my late 40'south now). Comparing an arthritis flare-up to a kidney stone ... both are bad, no doubt, but if I have to have 1 or the other, I'll take the kidney stone whatever twenty-four hour period. I have had times when the weight of just a bedsheet on your toes is excrusiatingly painful ... much worse than a kidney stone. Pain is relative, as anyone who has experienced a kidney stone can probably attest to. Other hurting seems pocket-sized in comparrison. In my example, a kidney stone is still bad, but when the doctors ask me to rate the pain level from one to 10, information technology'due south never a 10 ... seven or eight at it'southward worst. Thanks for the great advise on helping to pass these stones. I volition be drinking lemon juice on a regular basis from now on! Kidney stones are no fun.
Thanks...smashing info.Feeling exactly the aforementioned pain as you have explained.
Update: eight months of dealing with this rock off and on. Less than two weeks on lemon juice and the rock finally passed with very little discomfort. Information technology was a large stone too ... 8mm past 4mm and irregular in shape. It generated some visible claret as it finally moved into the bladder. Looked like two stones fused together with the smaller i fastened beyond the acme of the other. I'g standing with the lemon juice with hopes of immigration whatever other stones from my kidneys. Thanks to all for the great advice in this thread!
I'1000 on my 5th stone had 2 removed by functioning retrograde ureteroscopy nether full general anesthetic, I now have one that I think is near the point where the ureter joins the bladder, its been at that place for a couple of weeks now and refuses to move non causing massive pain and believe me I now how bad renal hurting gets at its worst. I just want this one out equally I take a half marathon to run in four weeks. The hurting from this 1 has been subtle like deep waves but now its like the irritation of a stent. I feel its presence when I come to the end of my stream when urinating, here is a method I utilize to get rid of the awful things ***this mail is edited past moderator *** *** spider web addresses not allowed***

Great post man! Your comments are my experiences besides. I'm simply at the point now where I have a 4-5mm stone entering the urethra as described to a higher place. I'chiliad drinking about 32 ounces of water to button it out. I'm not certain most the bathtub position, but I detect if I sit on the toilet that triggers it rather than standing. I'grand just unsure how I'm going to grab the stone that way. I'll try the net the hospital gave me.
Any idea of how often you need to take the lemon juice / olive oil brew? Or is it just once?
